PROJECT MANAGER/ ESTIMATOR
After graduating in 1991 from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design, Jim went to work for Don B. Hill Architect, a local company in College Station, TX. They quickly discovered Jim’s interest in construction and made him a key part of their construction management team. In this role Jim was involved in several church projects, including First Baptist in Beaumont, Texas and Northside Baptist in Corsicana.
A few years later, Jim moved his family to Dallas and was hired by McFadden and Miller as an assistant project manager where he spent the next four years honing these skills on a variety of projects ranging from conversion of an old furniture warehouse in Dallas’ historic West End into a 4-story cinema multiplex to construction of a “new” Used Truck Facility for Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson, Texas.
In 1999, Jim left McFadden and Miller to seek other opportunities in the construction industry. The new position gave him the chance to expand his repertoire with commercial warehouse, office, and retail buildings throughout Texas as well as Colorado.
In 2001, Jim took a leap of faith and started his own construction company in the DFW area. Ownership gave Jim a chance to use his likeable personality and skills in project management to build lasting relationships with both local clients and subcontractors. For the next 10 years, Jim and his company focused their efforts on commercial retail buildings, private schools, and office buildings in DFW and Austin.
In the fall of 2012, Jim returned to McFadden and Miller and now brings with him 21 years of commercial construction experience and the knowledge of being a business owner. As business continues to improve, Jim will play a key role in helping McFadden and Miller maintain its leading position in industrial, office and retail construction.
