Ted O’Neal

GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT/ EXCAVATION SUPERVISOR

Ted hails from Fairborn, Ohio and attended both Ohio State and Wright State Universities where he studied construction management.

From there he joined the 30-year-old family excavating business which was involved in heavy road excavation and utility contracting, The O’Neals worked on projects as diverse as runways and infrastructure for the Dayton International Airport, levee and dam work along the Miami and Ohio Valleys, and mass excavation for industrial and office sites in the region.

Ted found his way south and joined McFadden & Miller in 1984 as a heavy equipment operator whose primary function was mass excavation for commercial building sites. The rest is history: as the business grew, the company gradually bought more equipment and assumed greater responsibility for all aspects of the excavation function, to the point where we now self-perform all of this work, from field engineering to blue-topping building and paving pads and everything in between, including water injection/ lime stabilization, And Ted’s role has grown into one of oversight of this entire segment of our operation, from equipment maintenance, dispatch, inventory, and estimating.

And finally, in 2010, Ted assumed the mantle of general superintendent over field operations. Truly a hands-on operator, he often finds himself supervising entire projects in addition to his other duties, making an invaluable contribution to McFadden & Miller’s reputation and success.
